The new year is always a great time to review, reset and realign your reality.
Align with who you want to be, make ART a bigger priority!
For those with a keen eye the answer is "I" need more of "U" in the studio
THANK YOU! for an amazing 2025!
A quick review:
We hosted over 180 drop-in sessions with live models
We had a student exhibition and showed over 50 of your artworks
We started " Bunny's book club"
Portrait nights have been a hit since the trial run, it keeps going on
We held youth summer camps - training the artists of the future
We hosted a variety of workshops from tempera to floral painting.
Painting classes have sold out so we added more
The year end party was a blast, as usual.
COURSE REGISTRATION BEGINS JAN 1st 2026.
Class sizes are limited and we are first come first serve.
cSPACE opens to the public Jan. 5th so we will host our first DIRECTED STUDIES PAINTING class 1:30 - 4pm (half hour earlier this season) Tuesday Night starts Jan 6th.
There are a number of paintings sessions listed and we are bringing back out foundational skills in painting as day long intensives every few weekends for those wanting to hone their traditional skills and really learn to master the fundamentals with paint.
Our course prices have to go up this year to keep up with ever increasing overhead. Our solution to help you is to try something new, we will run Painting classes on a per month basis so its less money upfront. You are also welcome to sign up for all three months if you know you can attend them all.
However now, you don't have to commit to a 10-12 week semester if you are a snow bird or vacationing (you know who you are) You wont have to worry as much about missing classes or being sick and missing out, and hopefully will be easier on your chequebook as well as for us to manage absences, credits etc
This month by month trial will run until the end of March then we will review if we will carry it on in the Spring semester or not.
Drop in sessions will roll out starting the week of January 12th as we have housekeeping and floor polishing to complete the first week back in January.
Some date and times will vary as a trial run based on all the feedback collected in the past month. We got so much feedback to cut them earlier at night as many participants were leaving earlier and many decided not to come since it went so late so all sessions will wrap by 9, but you are always welcome to use the space afterward and to socialize after sessions.
All courses and drop in sessions will be the same length of time, 2.5 hrs. We will tighten up the breaks, you will get the same amount of drawing time, (no long break in the middle anymore) and be able to leaving 1/2 hr earlier. This will allow us to maintain our drop in price and give the models a pay increase as well.
We are till working out the booking details etc because of the holidays, just keep an eye on the social media or website calendar for the info as it comes out in January.

Exhibition opening:
ELENA BUSAN has an exhibition at the 4th floor galleries at cSPACE for the month of January, the collection is immense and you should not miss it. reception Jan. 22 between 6-9pm.
We will host a book club on a Saturday January 17th in order to be able to include one of my mentors and teachers Martinho Isidro Correia before he returns to Portugal. Its free and I'll provide some light snacks and books, but please bring your sketchbook and/or books of your won to share with whoever shows up.

Housekeeping:
We will be doing the annual floor clean and polish in the first two weeks in January so we will be back to squeaky clean by the time you arrive again.
Bunny is spending his entire break working on scheduling and trying to organize and make the nicer the studio space.
Bunny is at the studio all New Years night in order to put an "I" instead of a "u" in the mail out and to ensure the multi-pass sale ends properly and those of you who want to purchase courses can do it after midnight.
Also one personal item…….. Thank you all who donated to the Movember campaign this year, it means a lot, I have a list of all who donated so if you still want an original drawing, you can still pick up art anytime in the new year.

I’m glad so many of you (33 individuals so far) were able to get the deal of the year with the multi-passes, they are already made up in the book so whenever you can make it into a season the sign in sheets are ready for you!
Now I have one big ask…. commitment…….. Use them, come practice and come often you'll see that those who attend consistently improve dramatically.
REMINDER: 2026 registration begins Jan 1 at one minute after midnight …
