It’s been such an exciting time already, all our drop ins and classes are already running and we are looking forward to upcoming courses on our way toward Christmas break. I hope you are finally ready to transition into regular practice as we move into colder season, what better than spend it inside the toasty art studio space.
THE PAST.
The Afterglow of the workshop still lights me up.
Dale Forrest @ SacredPeak.ink wrote a beautiful Haiku that captures it and has let me share it here.

Thank you all who were able to participate in the intensive workshop with our visiting artist Oliver Sin. I’m so proud of the whole event and the massive grown I saw from it. What an amazing thing, to see mastery in motion, the lightness of touch and putting things exactly in the right place, like magic.
We witnessed three demos, one each morning, showing different materials and techniques. We learned about the real difference between willOw and vine (those who knOw), Andrew Loomis head construction, John Asaro’s planes of the head, Oliver signed books, had original works of art to show and sell and much more, for those who know.
I'm certain it will take time to fully assimilate the dense amount of information delivered. Continual practice will keep the magic going help make it part of our regular skills. Oliver dropped into our Monday night drop in portrait one last time before departing for San Fran early the next morning.
I hope that the success of this event and the great work done by all who participated trickles into making artists in Calgary even. It is my personal goal to bring more well known artists to teach up here in cow town to improve our reputation as an arts hub in the world!
THE FUTURE.

Tuesdays:
Elena Bushan will continue her Tuesday classes. I am incredibly lucky to work alongside Elena on many projects and I have learned a lot which is why I am highly recommending any painters who wants to get more bang out of colour and beautifying their work should take advantage of Tuesday mornings and join her class for direct opportunity to learn more from her while you can.
October Tuesday night Painting class 6:30 -9pm starts next week so be sure to register before it begins.
Thursdays:
Keegan’s portrait fundamentals class Thursday evening, is full and if you are registered for the class it starts this Thursday night!
Workshops:
CreativiTEA: Inner and outer Masks Sunday Oct. 18th 1 - 3 pm.

Whether we know it or not, we all wear masks. There are aspects of ourselves that we want the world to see. There are aspects of ourselves that we want people to believe.
But what is our interior mask? What parts do we keep just for ourselves? What do we choose to hide?
Bonus
In this workshop, we will explore both sides of our mask using paints and an array of collage materials on white paper masks to create a representation of our inner and outer expressions.
