Get in your weekly art fix. Join Elena’s Tuesday daytime painting classes to improve your craft. If you want to add colour and more life to your work and utilize beautiful north facing window light this is your opportunity. You can work on any subject and in any medium you love. 
 
Whether you’re painting landscapes, portraits, figure, or still life, Elena will guide you individually while also teaching strong fundamentals like composition, values, colour theory and techniques across different mediums. 
 
This is perfect if you want the feel of a private lesson within a group setting, everyone works on their own piece, at their own levels.

Elena Bushan is a professional visual artist, muralist, and art instructor based in Calgary, AB. She has 11 years of formal art education, having studied at art school and the Academy of Fine Arts in her home country, Moldova. Her work is rooted in imaginative realism, with a focus on portraiture and figurative painting, while also drawing inspiration from nature, florals, wildlife, landscapes and cityscapes.
 
Elena’s work has been exhibited in Canada and Europe and is held in private collections. In 2017, she received the Canadian Immigrant of Distinction Award in Arts and Culture for her contribution to Calgary’s artistic community. Alongside her studio practice, Elena creates large-scale murals for over 15 years, several of which have become local favourites in downtown Calgary.
She works in watercolour, acrylic, oil, and gouache, pastel and offers art classes and workshops for people of all ages, as she enjoys sharing her knowledge, creativity and love for art.
