Holiday closure & New sessions:
We are closed this Monday April 10. We will resume with a new semester of Rise & Draw the following Week April 17th - July 10th. Save $ when you sign up for the whole term, we also accept drop ins and honour Multi-passes throughout. The session is running but note, al our drop in sessions are first come first serve and they are quite popular so come early to ensure you get a good spot. We haven't sent anyone away yet but it can be a little tight in the studio.
If you are interested in improving your painting, Directed studies begins April 17th - May 15th. This course is built to suit you, so if there is something you want to learn let us know and we will help you improve your craft as we go. The core group of students we have have come along way insofar and I'm sure you will love what we have to offer. For more info visit the website course listing for more info.
Youth Courses:
We have a new after school Friday session with Ryan Nordlund. Art supplies are included. The sessions begin Friday April 14th. You can also drop in for one session.
Our Youth Summer Camps are listed and we are getting registrants already at early Bird prices until June. If you have a creative youth in your world pass the info on for a fun and educational art camp this summer on the website below:
Whats going on in the studio:
Those of you who visit the studio often have been able to see the progress on the mural projects Bunny is working on with Metrographics on the false wall (gallery above). Thank you to James Lutzko for the loan of the scaffold and Elena Bushan for the help with "beautification" on the murals.We have wrapped the two glacial and interglacial murals and are about to begin a new large preglacial mural. There are also more animal cut outs moving around the space and hopefully the ever changing studio space is inspirational to your creativity.
FIGURE DRAWING REGULARLY
Bunny always says "practice make progress" as he has seen over time the improvements in participants skills over time. We will continue to host our evening sessions 6:30 - 9:30 Long pose Wednesday night and Short pose with Luke Church Tuesdays. You can drop in by registering and paying online, or bring cash. Ca$h is king and how we pay the models, so if you have it put it in the envelope where you sign in, is is the preferred method excluding the multi-pass where you can save $ and get in much more practice.
We look forward to seeing you all again after the holiday weekend for more creativity. We will take part in the showcase event that cSPACE is hosting in May for Cinco De Mayo. Bunny will be up in Whitehorse installing the murals before June.
