Keeping it simple

That means a lot when it comes to life and art.

Our work should be effective and direct in its communication. It should convey simply what we intend. More often than not we get lost in the details.  This is just the human mind at work. We obsess over the things that don't actually matter in the end.

In order to keep it simple we should focus on our fundamentals with everything we do. A sophisticated use of these will always make your art better than any special tricks you use or endless hours of extra details you add in. Try to keep it simple and direct.

Check that your work has good use of:

SHAPE, VALUE, EDGES & COLOUR
