There is always something new to learn in this hands on approach to learning to paint. Get personalized painting instruction in representational art. Learn more about your materials and their proper use plus tips, tricks and techniques!
 
Paint what you want far better! In this directed studies session we go step by step from start to finish to learn the necessary things you need to know and pay careful attention to to create a quality artwork.
 
Directed Studies in painting is a great way to get coaching on the project of your choosing. There will be an assortment of small lectures and demonstrations as needed throughout the summer semester at the start of class time and as you work on your personal projects. We will work toward finishing the piece in the given time though you may need to work outside of classes depending on the personal goals you set for yourself.
 
In directed study sessions, students are encouraged to follow their personal interests and subject matter. This session will be hands on in an open studio format with lectures and demos troughout as needed. The instructor will carefully monitor the group and present lessons based off what will best suit the work.
 
Each individual comes in with different goals and skill levels, this is the perfect studio time to develop a personalized area of focussed study. In these sessions class size is limited. Some students will be building portfolios or exhibition pieces, while others will require more one on one time to build the particular skills. Work is largely self directed with the addition of personalized direction, coaching and constructive criticism.
